But, Doreen’s life transformed when she was able to enroll in our Adult Literacy Program, which helps adults (especially women) who were not opportune to go to school or dropped out of school get back on track.
Today, she is learning to read and write, as well as learning math, and basic computer skills. She is hopeful for her future.
During a needs assessment exercise, she and others were identified and she was assisted through our women micro-empowerment scheme, in which we assist women with financial start-up assistance to restart lost livelihoods.
Today, she has a petty trading kiosk worth of about 250,000cfa in capital. From here she is able to assist the husband in catering for the family.
