HELP A CHILD CAMPAIGN

Educate a child

Advocacy message: “we want a world in which every child has the opportunity and access to good education”
Millions of children are being robbed of an education simply because of who they are or where they live. Deprived of learning because they are caught up in emergencies, face extreme poverty, or are discriminated against because of their gender, disability or ethnicity. The world's most vulnerable and excluded children are missing out on education
  • Today, nearly 400 million children of primary school age cannot read or write
  • More than half of all three to six year olds have no access to pre-primary education
  • About 10 million refugee children risk having their learning interrupted after being forced to flee their homes
  • 25 million children will never enroll in school – and two-thirds of them are girls.
Without a quality basic education, children are less likely to escape the cycle of poverty and may never have the opportunity to fulfill their potential.

Humanitarian Situation And Needs

CONTEXT
The world is suffering from a wide range of humanitarian crises, from food insecurity to refugee displacement and climate change. There is an urgent need to address the effects of these unprecedented events.
1. Food Insecurity
Food is more than a meal. It’s survival. Roughly 155 million people were estimated to be acutely food insecure and in need of urgent assistance in 55 countries and territories in 2021 This represents an increase of 20 million people compared to 2020s 135 million people in 55 countries and territories, which was an already record year for acute food insecurity since the GRFC was first launched in 2017. In the 39 countries and territories that experienced food crises across five years of GRFC publications, the population affected by high levels of acute food insecurity increased from 94 to 147 million people between 2016 and 2020. This shows an overall worrisome trend of increasing levels of acute food insecurity.

Women’s empowerment and promoting women’s right have emerged as a part of a major global movement and is continuing to break new ground in recent years. Days like International Women’s Empowerment Day are also gaining momentum. But despite a great deal of progress, women and girls continue to face discrimination and violence in every part of the world especially in third world countries were cultural norms and context hinder the growth of most women. As a result of this we are committed to the fight against gender violence and discrimination and we do these by empowering women in various regions through education, leadership and economic empowerment. We also work with other civil society and international organizations to advocate and change norms about gender issues.

SUPPORT US IN THE FIGHT AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE, AND PROMOTING SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RIGHTS FOR ADOLESCENTS AND YOUNG GIRLS

Quote: “Gender equality is a basic human right, and it is also fundamental to having a peaceful, prosperous world.”

But girls and women continue to face significant challenges all around the world. Women are typically underrepresented in power and decision-making roles. They receive unequal pay for equal work, and they often face legal and other barriers that affect their opportunities at work.

Quote: “water is life”

From the effects of wars, natural disasters, climate change; millions of families around the world are in need of WASH services. From refugee camps to communities, schools and institutions, there is an urgent need to address these situations. In most underdeveloped countries, people have to trek for miles to fetch water, and in most scenarios ,the hygienic conditions of the water sources are unhygienic, as a result increases the spread of water borne diseases which have disastrous effects especially on children.

Help change care provide portable drinking water and hygiene facilities to vulnerable communities, schools and public institutions in areas of high need.
